Option 1: Starting from the old forge of Ola near the border town of Irún, almost at sea level, you climb through beech forest past the impressive Aitzondo waterfall, up a scenic gorge to the picnic site of Elurretxe and around the base of the granite crags of Peñas de Aia; you then descend to the San Antón Reservoir and over undulating hills and meadowland to the pretty town of Lesaka, traversed by a fast-flowing stream and with fine examples of the architecture typical of the region.

Option 2: Starting from the picnic site of Elurretxe at 500m, an optional ascent of Irumugarrieta, the first and most accessible of the three peaks of Aiako Harria/Peñas de Aia, and then around the base of the crags and descent to the San Antón Reservoir as above.
